Celebrating diversity and ensuring inclusion
The school celebrates the richness of its diverse community exceptionally well. Staff ensure that pupils see their language and identity reflected throughout school life. They carefully select inclusive books and resources and provide regular opportunities for pupils to share aspects of their culture and traditions. Displays and regular events, such as ‘flag of the week’ and ‘home languages’ day further reinforce the inclusive ethos. Through these everyday experiences and the curriculum, pupils develop a rich understanding of different cultures and spiritual and moral perspectives. They learn to value both their own identity and those of others. This helps to ensure that nearly all pupils demonstrate notably high levels of empathy and respect. This prepares them well to contribute positively to contemporary Wales and the wider world.
