Free Write Friday is a well-structured scaffolded activity which is a mini project for each pupil. Pupils have the freedom to choose an area or topic they are interested in, for example: Ronaldo, commercial gaming apps or construction games. Teacher s, if appropriate, provide a stimulus, called a ‘hook’ this could be a picture, music, or an animation that teachers use to prompt a discussion with pupils about what they might consider and what genre they might use.
