Authentic opportunities for pupils’ to apply their numeracy skills

They apply for roles such as shop assistant in the craft shop or groundskeeper for the school’s outdoor areas, developing key skills in budgeting, writing job applications, and interviewing techniques. These real-life contexts enhance their numeracy skills through costing and budgeting tasks while also building confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility.
