Ethnic Minority Leaders Programme

In 2023, we launched a new development programme to reduce the barriers facing education workers from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.

The programme aims to increase diversity in education leadership and help overcome barriers to progression, directly impacting on retention and progression of educators from ethnic minority backgrounds and ultimately learners’ outcomes.

We have trained delegates to date from primary, secondary, further education and Initial teacher education (ITE) sectors and the programme has been extended to include eligible individuals from Local Government Education Services and other education sectors.

We hope that as the participants progress in their careers as education professionals, some may also be our future peer or full-time inspectors (HMI).
