Research Administrator (AO Grade)


We are looking for an individual to join the Statistics and Research team to provide support for our full range of research activity.

Key tasks include:

  • Provide administrative support for the thematic process – setting up folders, correct documentation.  
  • Provide administrative support for consultations responded to.
  • Support the Statistics and Research team in creation and analysis of surveys, particularly qualitative analysis. Managing our questionnaire accounts, including archiving.
  • Support the Statistics and Research team in providing research advice to colleagues undertaking thematic work, including initial literature searches and summaries and supporting development of data collection tools.
  • Provide regular research and policy updates.
  •  Manage the political monitoring system, including weekly round-ups.

Duration: Fixed Term until December 2025 to cover an internal promotion. 

If a suitable permanent vacancy arises during the fixed-term period, successful candidates may be offered a permanent role.

Salary: £23,258 – £26,901 (Please note, starting salary will normally be offered at the minimum of the band)

Welsh Language: We work in both Welsh and English and many of our stakeholders are bilingual. For this post Welsh language skills (spoken and written) are desirable.

Location: The role is based in our Cardiff office: Anchor Court, Keen Road, Cardiff, CF24 5JW. We currently operate informal hybrid working arrangements subject to business needs and agreement with your manager. You will be expected to attend the office some of the time to allow ongoing support and development and to allow you to collaborate with your colleagues. This role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Work hours and flexible working: Full time hours are 37 hours over a five day week (Monday to Friday), excluding breaks.
