Peer Inspector Recruitment – Maintained Special & PRU

Would you like to develop your professional skills and contribute to improvement in your sector?

We’re looking for candidates to become Peer Inspectors who are currently senior leaders in:

• Maintained special schools.
• PRUs.

Peer Inspectors are a key part of our inspection teams. If you qualify as a Peer Inspector, you’ll:

• use your knowledge and skills during learning walks and lesson observations, talk to learners, and scrutinise samples of their work.
• contribute to discussions, as part of the inspection team to arrive at agreed team evaluations.
• use your evaluations to draft sections of the inspection report.

As a Peer Inspector, you’ll be making an invaluable contribution to Estyn inspections. You’ll get a brilliant opportunity to see effective practice where it’s happening every day, and to take these examples back to your setting to support improvement.

We offer full training which, if completed successfully, will add you to our register of Peer Inspectors.

We particularly welcome those from diverse backgrounds and those working in the medium of Welsh to apply.
